Craft for a Cause: Make Yarn #BeaniesforNat

Sometimes crafting for a cause is as simple as making some mini yarn beanies.

After seeing the above post on Instagram earlier this week, I was so touched by Nathalia’s story, I knew I had to contribute. You can read more about Nathalia’s story and how her fight against pediatric cancer has impacted people here.

Fortunately, I had a variety of yarn colors in my stash and was able to improvise using some other materials as the hat base without having to raid the toilet paper drawer and unravel several rolls just to make the hats (since there were no cute puppies around shooting a commercial to make that remotely acceptable).

I even created a detailed mini yarn hat tutorial to showcase how to use thin cardboard alternatives, as well as another method to easily shape the beanie part of the hat.

Then, I got to work…

While I already sent a box of hats to Minnesota I want to continue to spread the word because there is still plenty of time to participate. Contributions need to arrive by February 4, 2019.

They are asking that you send them to:

Attn: Beanies For Nat
226 North Washington Ave
Suite 300
Minneapolis, MN 55401

Making mini yarn #beaniesforNat will not only bring joy to Nathalia, but will also be a fun and relaxing activity to keep both little and big hands busy (especially if you need an indoor activity this weekend).
