Philanthropy Friday Link Up {May 20}

Last Friday, I started this Philanthropy Friday weekly link up and the results were, strangely, what I expected.

There were a good number of lookers but no takers.

And I was reminded of a story from a professional blogger (I believe it was Darren Rowse) talking about how he started a weekly community series on one of his original blogs and how it took longer than he liked to catch on.

My own words about being a successful DIY blogger were also on a constant loop in my head:

  1. Have a plan. (The plan is to post every Friday without fail. They have scheduling tools, after all!)
  2. Be consistent. (Remember that part about offering a link up every Friday? I think I have this thing down.)
  3. Tweak when necessary. (Deciding when something is “necessary” leaves a lot open for interpretation, but I’m 100% sure more than one week’s time has to pass before I even considering tweaking the plan.)

So this week, I don’t have posts to share, but keep checking in because I know, in time, this community will build and together we’ll learn more about and supporting the important work of all the organizations and makers who are impacting social change.
